Mark Snowdon Photography
Fine art monochrome prints

A Civil Engineer by profession, I live in North Yorkshire and enjoy and specialise in pictorial landscape photography.

Working exclusively in monochrome and using mostly medium format film cameras, a large shed in my garden serves as my darkroom.

My preferred subject is the English landscape with North Yorkshire, West Cornwall and the Lake District being favourite locations.

Light quality Is very important and I particularly favour fog, mist and the light at the beginning and end of the day. I make lith prints, cyanotypes and traditional silver gelatine prints.

My photographs have been published in the Best of Friends photography yearbooks, in the Royal Photographic Society Journal and have been used by Ilford for publicity. All the photographs were made in the darkroom using traditional photographic papers to archival standards
